Total traded volume<\/strong><\/p>\n

The percentage of transactions processed via Tradeweb\u2019s Automated Intelligent Execution (AiEX) tool amounted to a platform record of 89.0%, while the proportion of AiEX volume was 21.9%.<\/p>\n

Adam Gould, Global Head of Equities at Tradeweb<\/strong>, said: \u201cOur European ETF platform had another strong quarter, with total traded volume amounting to EUR 163.3 billion, an increase of 28.2% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, September\u2019s trading activity rose by 32.5% year-over-year, while automated transactions were at an all-time high during the month.\u201d<\/p>\n

Volume breakdown<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fixed income- and equity-based ETFs saw net buying in September, while \u2018sells\u2019 exceeded \u2018buys\u2019 by 16 percentage points in commodity ETFs. Trading activity in fixed income ETFs increased to 31% from 28% the month prior, while equity- and commodity-based ETFs decreased to 65% and 4% from 66% and 6%, respectively, in August. North America Equities was once again the most heavily-traded ETF category, with nearly EUR 16 billion traded over the month.<\/p>\n

Top ten by traded notional volume<\/strong><\/p>\n

Equity-based products dominated September\u2019s top ten ETF list. The iShares $ Corporate Bond UCITS ETF and Xtrackers MSCI World ESG UCITS ETF, which were August\u2019s first and second ranked products, respectively, swapped spots in September, while the Xtrackers MSCI AC World ESG Screened UCITS ETF remained in third place.<\/p>\n

U.S.-LISTED ETFs\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Total traded volume<\/strong><\/p>\n

Total consolidated U.S. ETF notional value traded in September reached USD 59.3 billion.<\/p>\n

Adam Gould, Global Head of Equities at Tradeweb<\/strong>, said: \u201cTrading activity in U.S.-listed ETFs on Tradeweb increased by 22.3% compared to last September, driven by a wide range of clients using an expanded set of trading functionalities across the platform. Last quarter, we saw total traded volume in the U.S. amount to USD 178.3 billion, up 18.5% year-over-year.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a percentage of total notional value, equities accounted for 54% and fixed income for 42%, with the remainder comprising commodity and specialty ETFs.<\/p>\n
