style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Detlef Glow, Lipper\u2019s head of EMEA research at Refinitiv<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These led, in combination with the positive performance of the underlying markets, to an increase in assets under management in the European ETF industry from \u20ac809.3 bn as of October 31, 2019, to a <strong><span style=\"color: #9ab62f;\">new record high of \u20ac841.7 bn at the end of November.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The increase of \u20ac32.4 bn for November was driven by the performance of the underlying markets (+\u20ac17.0 bn), while estimated net inflows contributed \u20ac15.4 bn to the increase in assets under management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was not surprising <strong><span style=\"color: #9ab62f;\">equity funds (\u20ac576.5 bn)<\/span><\/strong> held the majority of assets, followed by<strong><span style=\"color: #9ab62f;\"> bond funds (\u20ac232.1 bn)<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #9ab62f;\">commodity products (\u20ac21.6 bn)<\/span><\/strong>, alternative UCITS products (\u20ac6.7 bn), money market funds (\u20ac3.3 bn), mixed-assets funds (\u20ac1.5 bn), and \u201cother\u201d funds (\u20ac0.1 bn).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Graph : Market Share, Assets Under Management in the European ETF Segment enjoyed estimated net inflows for November (+\u20ac15.4 bn) which were way above the rolling 12-month average.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They brought that average <strong>up to \u20ac8.8 bn from \u20ac7.6 bn in October 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The inflows in ETFs were driven by equity funds (+\u20ac11.3 bn), followed by bond ETFs (+\u20ac3.8 bn), commodity ETFs (+\u20ac0.3 bn), mixed-assets ETFs (+\u20ac0.03 bn), and money market ETFs (+\u20ac0.02 bn).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the other side of the spectrum, alternative UCITS ETFs (-\u20ac0.03 bn) faced the highest estimated outflows for the month, bettered by \u201cother\u201d ETFs (-\u20ac0.005 bn).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This flow pattern drove
