European ETP Monthly Highlights (Assets & Flows):<\/strong><\/p>\n

Assets:<\/strong> European ETPs AUM increased by \u20ac7.5bn on MoM basis and ended the month at \u20ac607bn.<\/p>\n

Flows<\/strong>: European-domiciled ETPs registered strong in\ufb02ows of +\u20ac11.1bn last month where year-to-date \ufb02ows have reached +\u20ac48bn.<\/p>\n

New Product Launches<\/strong> \u2013 40 New products European ETP market witnessed 40 new launches in May which includes 28 Commodities ETPs , 11 Equity and 1 Fixed Income ETFs.<\/p>\n

Investment Themes for the Month <\/strong><\/p>\n

European indices (Regional focused) recorded in<\/strong>\ufb02<\/strong>ows of +<\/strong>\u20ac<\/strong>2.2bn<\/strong>. Indices that bene\ufb01tted this month were Euro STOXX 50 (+\u20ac879mn), MSCI EMU (+\u20ac392mn) and MSCI Europe (+\u20ac233mn). EM also saw signi\ufb01cant in\ufb02ows (+\u20ac1.3bn). Country wise, Japan (+\u20ac255mn) bene\ufb01ted while Germany & UK saw out\ufb02ows (-\u20ac498mn) & (-\u20ac258mn) respectively.<\/p>\n

Smart Beta segment recorded in<\/strong>\ufb02<\/strong>ows of +\u20ac1.3bn.<\/strong> Value Factor ETFs surged with in\ufb02ows of +\u20ac772mn. Robotics & Automation continued to draw steady investment (+\u20ac307mn). In other segments, Mid Caps (+ \u20ac685mn), Financials (+\u20ac191mn) and Industrials (+\u20ac112mn) bene\ufb01tted while Real Estate lagged (-\u20ac137mn).<\/p>\n

Corporate bond ETF<\/strong> were the net largest contributer for Fixed income \ufb02ows, attracting +\u20ac2.4bn.<\/p>\n

Gold ETPs<\/strong> (+\u20ac609mn) commanded most of the overall commodity \ufb02ows (+\u20ac1bn).<\/p>\n

Activity in US listed ETFs<\/strong> suggests that US investors were positive on both European-focused regional and country ETFs (+$5.1bn, ytd +$10.4bn).<\/p>\n

Turnover<\/strong>: MoM turnover increased by 25% The total turnover activity into European ETPs increased by 25% (\u20ac76.1bn) compared to the previous month\u2019s total (\u20ac60.7bn).<\/p>\n
