At the end of August, year-to-date platform activity already surpassed EUR 160 billion, just EUR 5.5 billion shy of the total notional traded throughout 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Volume breakdown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Only a quarter of the volume executed in commodity-based ETFs was attributed to \u2018buys\u2019 in August.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fixed income ETFs<\/strong> also saw net selling during the month, with \u2018sells\u2019 outstripping \u2018buys\u2019 by ten percentage points. Activity in the asset class exceeded 40% of the overall flow for the fourth time in the platform\u2019s history since February 2017, and March and September 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Europe Equities<\/strong> proved to be the most aggressively-traded category among European-listed ETFs in August, beating its North America equivalent by EUR 865 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More than EUR 2.1 billion was traded in Corporate Bonds, the most active fixed income segment during the month<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30868\" src=\"https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-1-TW.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-1-TW.png 600w, https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-1-TW-300x120.png 300w, https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-1-TW-585x234.png 585w\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Top ten by traded volume<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fixed income products dominated August\u2019s list of most heavily-traded ETFs, with the iShares Core Corporate Bond UCITS ETF moving up one place from July to occupy the top spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fund\u2019s objective is to track the performance of the Bloomberg Barclays Euro Corporate Bond Index as closely as possible<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30867\" src=\"https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-2-TW.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-2-TW.png 600w, https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-2-TW-300x132.png 300w, https:\/\/www.etfworld.it\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/18-09-18-2-TW-585x256.png 585w\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>US- listed ETFs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Total traded volume<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Total consolidated U.S. ETF notional value traded in August 2018 rose 4.4% month over month and 7.3% year over year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Notional value traded on the Tradeweb institutional U.S. ETF platform in August 2018 totalled USD 7.06 billion, which represented growth of 106% from the prior-year period.
